Poker tournaments are a great way to spend time with friends!
Internet poker gaming software have strict policies about friends and poker players’ at the same IP address playing at the same poker table together. But multi table poker tournaments are totally different; you’re allowed to play in the same poker tournament at most sites.
Most poker players have different views about this policy and I can understand their point to a certain existent. Poker is about competition and friends love to compete against each other and see who will last the longest in the same poker tournament. They even have side bets that who will last longer. Not all players are colluding, cheating, or would even think about it, they are out just to have fun and spend time with their poker buddies.
I have personally spoken to a tech/poker developers at an online poker site. They are watching out for colluding and any illegal play. They closely watch those players’ coming from the same IP address or associated accounts playing in the same tournament. They review poker hands to make sure there is no soft playing between friends. As I promised the tech, I won’t go into great detail about the other software programs they develop to insure safe and secure play between poker players. So poker players, you are in safe hands and big brother is watching; making sure your cash is being watched out for.
